Falkland Islands 'Cobb's Wren' ' Rock Wren'. Resident breeder, a stocky little brown bird, length: 12 - 13 cm ( 4.5 - 5.25 inches), widespread especially on islands with tussac but very often seen on boulder beaches where it feeds on small amphipods and insects found on kelp deposits and tussac.

T. aëdon cobbi is unique to the Falklands but other races are widespread down from Canada to the USA and through South America.

Cobb's Wren is named for Authur Frederick Cobb (1877-1965?) who managed the sheep farm and lived on Bleaker Island for at least 17 years. He also studied and made notes of the natural history on the island during his time there.
